Pateira de Fermentelos is a natural lake in Agueda, Portugal, created from the confluence of the Certima and Agueda Rivers. It’s the largest natural lake in the Iberian peninsula and it’s the heart of the freshwater fishing industry of the region. These rowboats, called bateiras, used by local fishermen, are its trademark.
