During a business trip to Aveiro, Portugal, I had some free time and decided to spend it on the street. I left the hotel and took a short walk through the nearby streets. It took only a few minutes until I find this ukrainian man playing the violin for a living. I had to stop. There was something deeply emotional in the way he played. When he noticed me, he stopped playing and that's how we started talking. I sat with him on the bench for a few minutes, but that was enough for him to tell me the story of how he and his only daughter had to leave their country and emigrate to Portugal in search of a better life. Unable to get a job in Portugal, this man, who was a music teacher in his home country, started playing in the street.
