The legend says that, a long time ago, a very rich man lived here. He owned properties on both banks of the Alfusqueiro River, but never bothered to build a bridge. He was a miser. One day, a stranger dressed in black appeared to him and said that he would build him a bridge, but in return he wanted the soul of the rich man. The rich man realized immediately that it was the devil he was talking to, but even so, he signed the contract with his own blood. The rich man did not believe that the devil could build the bridge on time, until Christmas Eve as agreed, so he hoped to keep his soul. But the construction was proceeding rapidly. I was born in 1976, in Portugal. Grew up in a small town in the countryside and later, at the age of 18, moved on to the big city.
