Located in one of the highest points of Sintra’s mountain range, the Peninha Sanctuary dates back to the 17th century. It is a place with a breathtaking view over Lisbon's coastal area. The woods that surround it are also amazing, especially early in the morning when the mist is more dense.
I was born in 1976, in Portugal. Grew up in a small town in the countryside and later, at the age of 18, moved on to the big city. Thank you, Erica! Yes, it is possible to drive right at the top. However, there's a parking lot a couple hundred meters down with a lot more space and people usually park there.
